We've Come To A Land Down Under

Howdy, Another Ferg post We've found our (more) permanent home! After 6-7 open inspections, aka apartment tours, we submitted our rental application and we were approved. Here is the address: Unit 6, 111 Blair St, North Bondi NSW 2026 Allison and I targeted the Bondi Beach area, as it's summer, and why not take advantage of the gorgeous beach around the corner. Let me give some pictures to help provide a frame of reference. Sorry, I mean Michael).  We have moved our luggage over to the new place and already started buying things, mostly from Facebook Marketplace. ...

Week one done. We have been on the MOVE.  View from down Saint Thomas St I think in total, we’ve walked 30 kms (that’s ~18 miles for those in imperial). The majority of the walking was done along the coast. There is a boardwalk-type walk from Coogee to Bondi beach. We are staying in the neighborhoods right between, so we’ve taken the 40 min, windy walk, to Bondi a couple of times.  Overlooking Bronte Beach We also walked back and forth to Bondi Junction multiple times for COVID testing, Drivers License applications, and getting Ferg pots and pans. This was done prior to seeing that there a bus stop around the corner from us that will take us to Bondi Junction for $3.20 AUD. That knowledge and power, lead us to taking the bus for the first time! We set up our Opal Cards with $20 AUD and hailed the bus to Randwick, to walk around UNSW and get our Tax File Number* (*see translation guide below). Hello, I, Ferg, wrote this one. For this first post, I will tell you a tale of pictures. Let's start at the beginning of most things, Detroit, Michigan. We loaded up the car, each having 2 checked bags, a carry-on, and a personal item. Our last meal in the USA was Chipotle. It was pretty ok. It took a while to get to what we see here in the picture on the right. Step 1, prove to the person at the Delta check-in desk, that we had the proper paperwork. This took no less than 20 minutes. Thank the lord Allison printed everything out. Step 2, get through security. It was at this point when I spilled some of my Chipotle. Not all, but some. Defeated, Allison suggested we spend money. I agreed and voila, drinks and snacks in the DTW Delta sky lounge.  After a completely packed flight to LA, you now see us about to board the flight to Sydney. I also bought whisky, duty-free.
