We Found a Place - 6/111 Blair St

Howdy,

Another Ferg post

We've found our (more) permanent home! After 6-7 open inspections, aka apartment tours, we submitted our rental application and we were approved.

Here is the address:

Unit 6,
111 Blair St,
North Bondi NSW 2026

Allison and I targeted the Bondi Beach area, as it's summer, and why not take advantage of the gorgeous beach around the corner. Let me give some pictures to help provide a frame of reference.

Here is Australia, the country we live within:

Here is New South Wales, the state we live within:

Here is Sydney, the city we live in within:

Here is Bondi, the suburb (better translated to neighborhood) we live within:

Here is the beach we are a ten-minute walk from:

We are beyond excited to live such a short walk to the beach. I already bought a wetsuit and plan on taking surfing lessons (Shoutout to Brian. Sorry, I mean Michael).

We have moved our luggage over to the new place and already started buying things, mostly from Facebook Marketplace. We bought a sectional couch, queen bed, two dressers, dining table, and refrigerator. You might be asking, "How did you move all this crap?! You don't have a car?" Ok, reasonable question. We rented a van. This means I had to drive on the left side of the road. It was very scary. Luckily, we survived.

The next post will have more pictures of our actual place of living. We are in the process of buying things to fill our home right now. So stay tuned.

I also wanted to showcase where we have been staying the past few weeks. We have been in a studio, living out of our suitcases. We were living in a suburb called Bronte, just a few kilometers south of where we live now in Bondi. Bathroom on the left, kitchen on the right.

It was a great place to be, as the bus stop was about 100 meters from our front door. Once in a while, a nice cat would meow at our door. So naturally, I would open the door and the cat would let himself in. He was cute!

Once, he came by pretty late at night, when Allison was already in bed. He knew what to do.

I also wanted to end my blogs with a fun fact or experience.

So Allison and I were able to get our Australian driver's licenses, with no restrictions. We didn't even have to take a left side of the road driving test. Along with the plastic card that is your driver's license, you can also download an app and link your ID there so you don't need the plastic card. That's pretty neat.
