End Of Year Updates and A Tour Of Our Apartment

Howdy,

This post will contain two parts, holiday stuff, and house stuff.  The post may look lengthy, but most of that space is pictures, you're welcome.

Part I, holiday stuff

For Christmas, we prepared a meal for the ages; Ham and instant mashed potatoes. We went to the beach to enjoy our picnic, which turned out to be a popular idea. The beach was crawling with Aussies doing the same thing we were! Many folks came with food, booze, and tents, a great way to spend Christmas day.

Now, NYE

I remember growing up in Michigan and watching the news on New Years Eve day and seeing reports talking about Sydney's NYE celebration. I remember realizing that Sydney was one of the first major cities to celebrate the New Year. How neat. Well, Allison and I got to partake in those celebrations this year. We got tickets to sit in a park with some pretty ok views. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what we saw.

We sat in a grassy area, so naturally, we brought supplies for a charcuterie board.

Part II, house stuff

Let me give you a tour.

First a look at the property. We enter the building from that door you see there. Look I even put a red circle to help you see it. WOW THANKS FERG.

Then we make our way up the stair to our door. It's a pretty bricky place.

Ok, now we enter and we see this hallway. Immediately to the right we have the bathroom and to our left we have our room.

Boom, bathroom.

Boom, our room.

Look at the view from our bedroom. That tower on the left there is right were the ocean is, about a half a kilometer away.

Ok, now we move down the hall. Here's the living room. Look at all the furniture we moved up some stairs. Planning on getting a tv soon, so stay tuned (pun intended).

Here's the view out that window.

Then, if we turn around from facing the window, we find the kitchen.

Then, sharing a wall with the dining table, we have the "other room". It features a few things we got today. On the left, a surfboard, and on the right, a desk for Allison.

This post's fun fact or experience comes with a picture.

We were taking a walk down Bondi beach and saw a bunch of people gathering. Intrigued, we went on over and saw someone was setting up for what looked like a small concert. Turns out, this Aussie artist was doing a busking tour. The artist was Tones and I, of Dance Monkey fame. LOL THAT VIDEO HAS 1.7 BILLION VIEWS.
